This list is subject to change, but is a pretty comprehensive idea of what I’m carrying on my back…also, you can clearly see I am not an ultra light backpacker, nor do I try to be. While keeping my big three (pack, tent and sleeping bag) down as much as possible I allow myself to add some items that I find comforting to have (ie. camp shoes, knife, extra layers).

I love my Notch! It survived the CDT and PNT and is still in great shape. Took a while to master the setup, but once I got that down I’ve been very pleased with it.

Trying to decide between that at the Moment DW for a trip this summer on the CT, as a long distance hiking novice (but having taken many short trips over many years.)
